CSS Frameworks

The biggest threat to Tailwind's crown may not be another CSS framework, but simply not framework at all.

The fact that LLMs can easily generate ad-hoc design systems and component libraries is no doubt a contributing factor to this trend, not to mention CSS itself evolving to address many use cases that previously required using third-party frameworks.

CSS-in-JS

CSS-in-JS was never the most elegant idea, but it did fill a role at a time where CSS wasn't quite the language it is today. Its era may be over, but it did pave the way for what we have today–if only to show us what not to do.
